FAQ

Common questions.

The questions we're asked most often, with honest answers. Onboarding, eligibility, reporting, risk, and the way we invest in India and developing markets.

Onboarding

How does onboarding work?
Every engagement starts with a conversation about objectives, horizon, and constraints. If there's fit, we move to suitability and KYC, then a signed mandate. Funds are only accepted after that sequence is complete. See Mandates & Onboarding.
How long does it take?
The first conversation is usually a single meeting. KYC and suitability documentation typically takes one to three weeks, depending on complexity and jurisdiction. For institutions, internal due-diligence on the client's side can extend that timeline.
What documents do I need?
Standard KYC documentation: identity verification, proof of address, source of wealth. Entities will need corporate documents, beneficial ownership information, and authorised-signatory records. We share a specific checklist before the second meeting.

Eligibility

Who can be onboarded as a client?
Individuals, family offices, and institutions in jurisdictions where we're permitted to provide services from our UAE base, and who meet the applicable investor category for the proposed vehicle. Full detail on Eligibility & Jurisdiction.
Do you accept retail investors?
No. Our services are designed for clients who meet the applicable investor category in their jurisdiction. If you're not sure where you stand, we can talk through it on the first call.
Can foreign investors access Silvercoin strategies?
Yes, through appropriate offshore access structures, subject to the investor's jurisdiction and our regulatory standing there. We confirm feasibility early in the conversation.
Do you accept non-resident Indian (NRI) investors?
Yes, through appropriate vehicles and with FEMA and home-country rules respected. NRIs are an established part of how we work.

Reporting

How often will I receive reporting?
Standard is quarterly performance reports plus an annual review meeting. Monthly or bespoke reporting can be arranged for larger or institutional mandates. Ad-hoc notes are sent for material events. See Fees & Reporting.
What does the reporting contain?
Performance against the mandate, attribution, portfolio commentary, risk and exposure metrics, and any material changes. The goal is reporting a client can make decisions from, not filings.
Can I speak to the investment team directly?
Yes. We keep the firm intentionally lean, and direct access to the investment team is part of how we work. We just ask that the substantive conversations happen at agreed review points.

Risk & Governance

How do you manage risk?
Position sizing, liquidity governance, drawdown controls, and independent oversight, applied per mandate. Risk is built into the process from day one, not bolted on. See the Risk Framework.
Are you independently regulated?
Silvercoin operates as Silver Coin Asset Management FZC LLC under License No. 4421996 with the Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone Authority. Full entity details on the Entity & Regulatory page.
What if I have a complaint?
We maintain a documented complaints-handling process. See Disclosures for the formal policy, or write directly to us.

Investing into India

How do you approach Indian equity investing?
Bottom-up and concentrated. We spend more time on a smaller number of businesses than the industry average, we lean toward quality, and we let valuation discipline govern when we buy and how much. Our turnover sits below the category average. See the India Equity strategy.
How is Indian exposure accessed for offshore investors?
Through appropriate access vehicles that accommodate FEMA rules and the investor's home jurisdiction. We coordinate with external legal and tax counsel on vehicle selection. We don't provide tax advice ourselves. See Offshore Structuring.
Do you invest in small and mid-caps, or only large-caps?
Our India Equity strategy is unconstrained by size but anchored in quality. We invest across the capitalisation spectrum where the underwriting supports it, with explicit liquidity limits set at the mandate level.
Do you advise on Indian real estate or private deals?
No. Silvercoin is an equity-focused firm. We don't offer real estate, private equity, or venture strategies.
